Four untitled poems

Joe Dobkin

1.

Big lipped
Old brown men
Shake their
Gentry legs
At me
Gentle boy
Looking back and
Smiles
It'll take him
A while
To die

2.

The Russian takes a swig of Grape Juice.
"Bptoooagh!" She spits it straight back at me.
"This isn't Vodka!" Her perceptive eyes sit
Somewhere on her face. I believe it is above the
nose.

3.

These skinny, dark Indian boys
Brightly colored in their
Old Navy dreams:
Orange tanktops hanging off
Them like tissue paper
Air Jordans too tight
Tapping out in Morse-
"I just wanna hang."

4.

I want to get a tattoo to show
Myself how impressed
I am with my devotion.
I'll write her name in the folds
Of my hand
And curl it up so she can't see it.
